'O'RA
ORA is named after the three values at the heart of the brand.
O symbolizes the circular economy — a continuous cycle of creation, use, and renewal.
R stands for Recycle, reflecting our commitment to
transforming Belgian textile waste and premium Italian stock leather
into new creations.
A stands for Antwerp, the city where our creative vision and craftsmanship come together.
At the core of ORA lies the Loop: a subtle symbol of circularity, endless movement, and renewal. It embodies our belief that materials can be given a new life without compromising beauty or quality.
Sustainability is our core value
ORA is a luxury circular footwear and accessories brand built on the belief that fashion must be redefined through what already exists.
In a world where fashion remains one of the most polluting industries, ORA transforms textile and leather waste into contemporary, desirable objects — where responsibility and beauty coexist. ORA is a luxury footwear and accessories brand built on a circular economy model.
By transforming textile waste and Italian deadstock leather into contemporary products, ORA creates objects designed to be recycled, renewed, and made again.
THE LOOP
The defining symbol of ORA is the Loop — a continuous form with no beginning and no end. It represents circularity, transformation, and renewal. The Loop is both the identity of the brand and its design language.
Small pieces of denim and leather are cut into loops and integrated into the shoes, creating innovative structures and uppers. Through this process, every material is reduced, rebuilt, and transformed into new design.
What do we d'o'
ORA collects unsellable cotton garments from Kringloop in Belgium and deadstock Italian leather. These materials are recovered, reworked, and cut into small loops, then transformed into innovative luxury shoe uppers designed to return to the cycle at the end of their life.
BETWEEN ANTWERPEN AND ITALY
Materials are sourced in Belgium and
transformed in Antwerp, where textiles and leather are cut into loops and
assembled into structured, striped components. These elements are then shipped to Italy, where small artisan workshops craft the final shoes, preserving traditional craftsmanship and know-how.
The result is a product designed and
partially crafted in Antwerp, and finished made in Italy—combining innovation with heritage.
CIRCULAR SYSTEM
ORA is built as a circular system product.
Each piece is designed to be made again, with materials that can re-enter the cycle after use.
ORA shoes can be disassembled at the end
of their life: denim uppers can be transformed back into yarn, while leather components can be recovered and reprocessed into new materials.
The brand also introduces a participatory model, inviting customers to send their own denim garments to be transformed into personalized shoes—creating a direct emotional connection between wearer, object, and origin.
F’O’UNDER
ORA is founded by Sara Marini, former Head Designer at Ann Demeulemeester, with over 20 years of experience in footwear
and accessories design for brands including Calvin Klein and Diesel. Alongside her practice, she teaches at Istituto Marangoni Firenze, mentoring the next generation of designers.
ORA is born from a simple belief: that deadstock, denim, and
discarded materials can be transformed into something desirable and luxurious.Through circular design, waste becomes value, and materials are given a second life as contemporary footwear.
C’O’LLECTI’O’N
The collection unfolds into two distinct lines:
L’O’L: youthful, playful, and expressive. The loop becomes a graphic gesture of spontaneity and joy.
T’O’P: sculptural, refined, and luxurious. A more minimal and crafted interpretation of circular design.
